The Grind-ies are the gravelly, down and dirty, mentally painful, zero-to-something thinking, learning, and producing that it takes to create something of your own. The Grind-ies Challenge is a 30-day pursuit to enter the Grind-ies mindset on a regular basis and document the experience.
I don't even know where the Grind-ies stopped and started today.
I worked on some of my own stuff, some freelance proposals, the freelance project, and one of my websites, and found focus even when I wasn't "clocked in."
A habit's definitely been formed.
I've also developed something I call the "Grind-ies Wheel." It's the balancing of multiple projects. Resistance can blanket itself in the comfort of one, safe project, coercing you to ignore other projects that'll move you to the next level.
The "Grind-ies Wheel" loosens Resistance's slimy grip on the easier projects and exposes the ones I'm letting slide.
Yep. The alluring ooze of Resistance can show up in the warmth of the secure project.
But I have you, Resistance, and you'll never win.
I wish I had more to say tonight.
I invite you into the Grind-ies.
Day 29 Time in the Grind-ies: 2 hours, 48 minutes
Projects: work-for-hire gig, my recess materials, the freelance website
How I felt afterward: Like a new person. Like I'm more aligned with who I am.
